The Center for Ocular Prosthetics, LLC creates detailed, custom-made ocular prothestics (artificial eyes), for those young and old alike, transforming the appearances of prisoners, priests and everyone in between. The Center for Ocular Prosthetics's patients have ranged from the tiniest of babies to the elderly. They may be victims of rosebushes, fireworks or birth defects. Despite the state of medical reimbursement, we take the time to get to know each of our patients and personalize each eye with a tiny drawing chosen by the patient.
Based in Portland, Oregon and representing a profession of less than 150 board-certified ocularists in the United States, we strive to combine both science and fine art. Our attention to detail has been recognized across the country and was the subject of an award-winning short documentary entitled "Ocularist," which won numerous awards, including at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.
